Discover the hella forests of the north. đŸŒČđŸŒČđŸŒČ

Set off north from Davis Square. Hella north. Your dirt starts through The Fells. Pace yourself! It’s still challenging.

Speed out from The Fells and find your next dirt trails at the Reading Town Forest. Smell the fresh pines! Connect through Bare Meadow to continue to North Reading.

Next, you’ll stumble on Harold Parker State Forest, which is the first extreme technical challenge you’ll encounter. There are many bouldery roll overs and ill-placed roots, so take care. That being said, don’t forget to enjoy some of the scenery and the terrain of the area.

You’ll begin to exit the forest through other smaller town forests, meadows, and hills toward Andover. Here is your first refueling stop! Next, you’ll travel through other lingering green spaces and around other serene bodies of water.

The next noticeably unique dirt starts near Tewksbury Junction, where you’ll pedal on ATV and dirt bike trails. These are basically like supersized trails. If you happen to sprint on the trails, you can almost feel like a dirt bike 😁🏍☁

Then, you’ll ride on streets until Billerica State Forest, which contains some of the most challenging but rewarding singletrack. You’ll share the trails with mountain bikers through miles of fun. Eventually, the tight turns will straighten out, and you might  find yourself needing a snack at Carlisle. The Chili is primo.

Pedaling south, the downhill sloping dirt will feel like a dream. Then you’ll connect up with the historical sights of Minuteman National Park. At that point, it might be dark. If there is enough moonlight, you might be able to have a magical low-light ride on the crushed limestone trail. Afterwards, you’ll take the smooth Minuteman Bikeway all the way to your post-ride beverage, if you have the energy.
